Maseno University has established a Centre of Sustainable Development & Global Health (MU-CSDGH) to serve as a unique interdisciplinary hub to support collaborative efforts amongst regional and global networks of scientists and practitioners. The overall goal of the Centre is to promote sustainable progress for improving community health, both locally and globally.
To create an interdisciplinary network of researchers at Maseno University and collaborating partner institutions to support the integration of sustainable development (e.g. development economics, agriculture, environmental science, etc.) and health sciences to develop and study interventions to address the challenges of infectious and non-communicable diseases in the Lake Victoria region through state-of-the-art research and training. In addition, the Centre will address how health interventions can foster economic growth for a sustainable impact on community health and development.
